On Saturday 27 June, fishermen from the Réunion Fishing Club were able to observe three Antarctic minke whales at close quarters off Saint-Gilles. The Antarctic minke whale (or Minke Whale) is a Southern Hemisphere cetacean, accustomed to cold waters. It is therefore quite rare to be able to observe them in tropical waters.
