The Port of Mombasa is expected to further enhance its cargo capacity with the delivery of 17 container carriers in a fortnight. Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) said in a statement yesterday the vessels are expected to discharge 9,700 Twenty Feet Equivalent Units (TEUs) and load 11,817 TEUs. With the acquisition of the new equipment, KPA said, the conventional cargo terminal expects 16 general cargo ships to discharge 353,533 metric tonnes of cargo.
