A partnership agreement was signed Wednesday by 17 organizations to improve the tuna fishery in the Indian Ocean and make it more sustainable, said one of the signatories. This project aims at the quantifiable and verifiable improvement of tuna fisheries in the Indian Ocean and compliance with standards developed by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), a non-profit organization that awards sustainable “Said Thailand’s Thai Union, a co-signer of the agreement with organizations such as the World Wide Fund (WWF) and the world’s third on canned fish.
