The Departmental Council, in partnership with the Universities of Maputo, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, is organizing an International Conference on the Civilizations of the Mozambique Channel from 15 to 17 November at the Departmental Council, at the Younoussa Bamana hemicycle, from 8 a. m. With a sub-theme, “Between crossed histories and the construction of identities”.This conference is open to all. The themes to be addressed are the cultural, identity, heritage and historical aspects in an approach that shows the uniqueness of Mayotte while highlighting the common denominators that bring the Mahorais closer to the peoples of our region. As project manager in the elaboration of the MuMA roadmap (museum programme, assessment of the Museum’s actions since its creation, vocation of the Museum and development), the Departmental Council also organises the 2nd meeting of the Scientific Council under the sponsorship of the Museum of Civilisations of Europe and the Mediterranean (MuCEM), in Marseille, on 20 and 21 November 2018.This highlight precedes and prepares the passage of the MuMA before the High Council of French Museums in order to obtain the designation “Musée de France” on 23 November next in Paris.
