From 22 to 25 November, a regional symposium on sustainable development with application to coastal zones was jointly organized by 3 projects of the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) : ILES Biodiversity project funded by the European Union (EU) and the GDZ-COI project funded by the French Global Environment Facility (GEF). 60 participants from 7 South West Indian Ocean countries, including Reunion Island, will share their expertise and experience in the field of GIZC at this regional symposium and develop a regional roadmap that will enable IOC to take a long-term program to support the coastal resilience of its member states to the effects of climate change. The objective of this conference is to strengthen the implementation of sustainable development goals (ODD) to the countries of the Indian Ocean, offering an integrated approach to the coastal areas.
