Eastern gendarmes arrested on Sunday, in Sainte-Rose, a man suspected of growing zamal fuelling a major traffic to Mauritius. Dozens of feet were discovered in the home of the suspect who turns out to be a policeman from the police station of Saint-André. He would have recognized being part of an international traffic, since the zamal he produced was sold to a wholesaler living in Sainte-Suzanne and having a “laboratory” where the grass was transformed into resin before being “exported” to Mauritius.
